These lines are a symbol tracing the history of a life, not only on Earth but before and after. They are present in all of my current work, they hold the history and lived experience of an existence. They can cross paths and leave traces in each other, both in the physical, Earthly world and beyond it. A finished tufted tapestry has a bodily aspect of heaviness that is built up by thousands of strands of yarn, as cells make the body. My work stems from experiences and observations of grief. Without explicitly describing these realities, I can personally honour them through my work. I believe my work entails a last embrace for those people. Known and unknown. Past, present and future. Through my work I reject the notion of the reality after death being a void of nothing. The imagerial is a word I have created deriving from the Swedish word and concept of bildvärld which means a world of imagery. I have not been able to find an equivalent word in English that not only describes an image but in addition captures the intangible information concerning an extensive space created by an artist that spans beyond the borders of their presented images. That said work is in reality fragments drawn from a larger space, albeit imagined or perceived. I refer to examples of artists that I believe encompasses the imagerial, i.e. Nina Bondeson, Björk and Italo Calvino. The word imagerial holds the notion that in my practice I draw my imagery from an extensive (in my case, imagined) space when I create my work to tell stories.&nbsp; I look to other artists' ways of storytelling in order to enhance my own. Visual storytelling as in imagery, audial storytelling as in music and material storytelling. Tufting is for me a forceful technique that is generous with its painting-like possibilities. A finished tufted tapestry also has a bodily aspect of heaviness that is built up by hundreds of innumerable strands of yarn, as cells make the body. Together they witness her life line sail away over the sky - streaming pink before she disappeared behind the horison. After, they watched as the waves licked clean what was left behind. When the tide drew back they carried the remains together, to the last embrace. In the background of this scene, cells are growing for a new life. A hand is reaching out in front of it. Out of the hand a red line extends and finds its way to the growing cells. It leaves a part of itself with the new life before moving on, away. Life lines that cross and life lines which travel on parallell paths without meeting. The ones who are left behind and a hope that the ones who miss each other in the Earthly life meet somewhere along the way beyond our reality. Rib-like shapes frame the imagery to anchor the narrative back into the physical and emotional body.
